Corporate history

1946- Kunio Tani founded a company in Sakuragawa, Naniwa-ku, Osaka. The company started manufacturing circular saw blades, which were handmade at that time, to meet the industrial demand. The first trademark was CLOVER TENNIN.
1953- Reorganized into Tani Saw Manufacturing Co., Ltd. with capital of 500,000 yen.
1957- Started manufacturing Friction Saw Blade and increased capital to 2 million yen.
1965- Started manufacturing HSS Metal Saw Blade, which had the oldest history in metal cutting field.
1972- Trademark was changed to TENNIN. Increased capital to 12.6 million yen.
1974- Completed Hirakata Factory in the Hirakata City Furniture Industry Park. Formed a technical alliance with LENNARTZ, the largest saw blade manufacturer in West Germany, regarding the manufacture of carbide tipped circular saw blades. Increased capital to 25 million yen.
1978- Expanded Hirakata Factory and integrated facilities in Sakuragawa, Osaka to Hirakata Factory. At the same time, the sales department and the general affairs department moved to Hirakata, and Hirakata Factory became the center of the company.
1979- Imported and installed large-diameter saw blade grinding machines and completed the integrated production system to manufacture all sizes of metal cutting circular saw blades as a specialized manufacturer. Increased capital to 60 million yen.
1981- Opened Yokohama Sales Office and Factory due to increasing demand in Kanto area. Increased capital to 90 million yen.
1985- Constructed a new 6-story head-office building on the premises of Hirakata Factory to expand R & D section and computer systems.
1987- Toshiaki Tani became president on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of foundation. Kunio Tani became chairman.
1989- Launched Dry Cutter TDC305 as the first step to diversify related businesses.
1990- Increased capital to 219 million yen. Sanwa Bank and Sanwa Capital joined as external shareholders.
1991- On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of foundation, completed a new factory in the Ujitawara Industrial Park, Kyoto. Introduced CI and changed the company name to TANITEC CORPORATION.
1994- Integrated Hirakata Factory into Kyoto Factory to promote further rationalization. Released Dry Cutter TDC355.
1996- Held a ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of foundation. Started manufacturing and sales of Segmental Saw Blade.
1997- Moved Osaka Sales Office to Hirakata and opened Osaka Branch.
2001- Opened Nagoya Sales Office.Obtained ISO9001: 2000 certification.Held a celebration to commemorate the 55th anniversary of foundation.
2004- Obtained ISO14001: 1996 certification.
2005- Opened Technical Center in Kyoto Factory.
2009- Launched Triathlon Cutter TAC192 and Laser Beam Saw Blade.
2013- Kohei Tani became president.Toshiaki Tani became chairman.Launched TENNIN Tipped Saw Blade.
2017- Toshiaki Tani became a director advisor.
